Sri Lanka have announced their ODI squad for the upcoming series against England. The series starts on 22 January. Sri Lanka are largely backing a familiar core from their previous ODI outing with almost 14 players retained from the last series. Charith Asalanka returns to the side and will captain them. They have also recalled Dhananjaya De Silva for this series and the middle order batter will be a key addition to the middle order and he can also bowl some overs of spin.

Pathum Nissanka and Kamil Mishara are likely to open the batting and the middle order will have Kusal Mendis, Asalanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama. Pavan Rathnayake is likely the backup batter.

Pacer Chameera also makes a comeback from injury and the pace attack looks really good with Asitha Fernando, Eshan Malinga and Madhushan. Wellalage, Hasaranga and Vandersay will be the spin bowling options.
