Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma is known for playing anchoring knocks for his side. However, one more trait that makes Sharma famous, and a fan favorite is how he forgets the most basic yet important things yet is so casual about it. A recent viral video from Mumbai Indians’ fan event is a recent testament to it. At the event, Sharma’s Mumbai Indians and Indian team teammate Tilak Varma recalled how the veteran cricketer once forgot his phone at home while traveling to Jamnagar.

Varma shared, “We went to Jamnagar. So, in the morning, Rohit bhai reached Delhi with his family. I am calling Rohit bhai, and his phone wasn’t reachable. So I reached there and I asked him, “I am calling you,” and he was like, “Oh man, I forgot my phone at home.” Varma’s statement left everyone in splits, including his teammates on the stage with him. However, Sharma responded by accepting that he forgets things, and so does everyone.

“I agree. I accept that I forget. What is there? Everyone forgets. But the important things, whenever I need them, I remember them. Never forget,” the 39-year-old said.

Rohit Sharma’s kind gesture for groundsman goes viral

Rohit Sharma’s heartwarming gesture towards an injured Wankhede groundsman has gone viral on social media. Ahead of the Mumbai Indians’ clash against the Lucknow Super Giants, Rohit Sharma’s shot in the nets session accidentally hit a ground staff member on the knee. The staff member was doing his regular work near the field when the ball struck him. After the hit, Sharma immediately stopped his practice and walked towards the staff member to check if he was okay.

Not only this, but the medical team of the Indians attended him and gave him first aid. This small yet meaningful gesture was captured and shared on social media and fans praised Sharma for his humility and respect towards the groundstaff. The video was shared by Mumbai Indians on their official social handles and was captioned, “Beyond the game, it’s heart over everything. Ro ensured ground staff Siban Biswas was promptly looked after after an unfortunate training incident.”

Notably, Sharma just returned to action during the clash against the Super Giants on May 4 after missing five games due to a hamstring injury. However, he managed to score 221 runs, including two fifties at an average of 55.25 and a strike rate of 174.01 in five games he has played this season.
