Some fans are already remarking and in no dispassionate way either that “bro hates MI (Mumbai Indians) from his core!” While there are the others, a lot really, who are saying that “Tim David took the result of the match a bit too personally!”

Over here, and it ought to be reminded, they are talking about the yesterday evening’s contest held at Raipur where the Mumbai Indians went down fighting against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. But the big question is- why are the fans talking in that manner where it comes to a certain Tim David? Well, here is what you must know if in case you missed out seeing the not-so-special celebration that was seen at Tim David’s end when his Bengaluru outfit overcame the last over thriller at Raipur:

Apparently, he flashed the finger

You read that correctly. Sans any errors! Tim David, at the immediate conclusion of what was clearly a super tight and nervy game for his RCB side against the Mumbai Indians was seen showing the middle finger, perhaps in an over enthusiastic celebration of sorts. He was showing the finger to his opponents.

What was interesting on this particular occasion was that while not a single player from his RCB team, as seen clearly in the dugout, was celebrating in such a manner, with Virat Kohli extremely relieved and glad at having won the close game, it was only Tim David who was seen with such a gesture. A gesture that was clearly not required and perhaps too stretched and you as a fan won’t be dubbed incorrectly or unfairly for calling it so!

Tim David gets criticized for obscene gesture after RCB's win

While at this point of time, it’s unclear whether the lanky Australian cricketer playing for the Bengaluru outfit has been reprimanded for his over the top after game gesture (a lewd hand action that it certainly was) or whether he will be penalised soon enough, what’s known is that Tim David is definitely not making any great news at this moment. And what’s clear is that quite a few have called him out already on social media with cricket news sites also covering his action.

*What’s more? Somewhere it isn’t quite clear as to why Tim David made the gesture that he did in the game’s aftermath. On the field and during the course of the contest, there isn’t a single camera angle that would have covered a possible instance of some bowler having sledged him - if at all! At the same time, no cricketer from the Mumbai Indians camp has been seen saying anything impolite or offensive to the Bengaluru batter. So then what may have provoked David?

What’s more bizarre on this occasion is that David, who scored a duck against MI last evening - a first ball duck - happens to be a former member of the very side he hurled or waved his middle finger to- the Mumbai Indians. Why this desperation and what was the need in the first place? It’s all unclear!
