A rare controversy unfolded during the IPL 2026 Qualifier between the Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals. The toss of the crucial game had to be conducted twice, sparking reactions among fans and pundits. Notably, the Royals locked horns with the Titans in the Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2026 clash at the New Chandigarh Stadium on Friday, May 29. During the toss, home skipper Shubman Gill initially flipped the coin, while visiting skipper Riyan Parag called for ‘heads’.

The coin, however, landed on tails but confusion followed as host Ravi Shastri noted that the call wasn’t clearly audible. Not only this, but even match referee Prakash Bhatt stepped in, and stated that he didn’t hear the call, leading to flipping the coin once again. In the second attempt, Parag won the toss and the team opted to bat first. Needless to say, the incident left players and fans surprised, with netizens bashing the officials for the same.
