Egypt has revealed their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Pharaohs will be having their fourth attempt at the World Cup. They fell short in the previous edition of the tournament but this time they will be hoping that they wouldn’t put a foot wrong this time out. They enjoyed a fantastic bit of form in the Qualifiers as they were unbeaten in the group stage and carried their momentum forward.
Hossam Hassan will be the coach for the side in the tournament and the hopes of the Arab nations will be carried on the shoulders of their global superstar, Mohammed Salah. This could probably be his last dance at this global stage and he will be looking to make the most of the opportunity.
In the African Qualifiers, Egypt secured 26 points from the fixtures with 8 wins and 2 draws and they remained unbeaten as well. Egypt were drawn into a group consisting of Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Ethiopia and Djibouti. They sealed their qualification with their 3-0 win against Djibouti.
Mohammed Salah finished as the top scorer of the league with 9 goals in total. After such a dominant performance in the African qualifiers, Egypt will be hoping to make an impact in the tournament. They have quite a good chance to make it through to the next stage but they will have to repeat the intensity of the performances they showcased in the African Qualifiers.

In the 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup, they will be facing a daunting task to qualify from a group consisting of Belgium, Iran and New Zealand. It definitely won’t be an impossible task as they could outplay some of the teams considering their best run in the African Qualifiers. Their best result in the tournament has been the group stage and they haven’t been able to qualify further yet. Egypt will be hoping that this could be the tournament that could change their reputation at the FIFA World Cup and pose a serious threat to the sides taking on the side.
