The Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Travis Head has finally found his form in the IPL 2026 season with an explosive knock. Travis Head had some fortune with his first six as Naman Dhir couldn't take the catch. Hardik Pandya was visibly disappointed with the effort as he thought that the catch should have been taken. From that six onwards, it was all uphill for Travis Head. He smashed two consecutive sixes after that and he looked in complete control. The other bowlers couldn't handle the form of Travis Head as when he gets going, it will take something extraordinary to dismiss him. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will hope that this will be the innings that will change his fortune in this campaign.
Hardik Pandya knew that the key to get a hold on the match would be the wickets of the openers. However none of the bowlers including the great Jasprit Bumrah could stop the duo from the carnage they were causing. Travis Head was absolutely on top of his game and this was a very different game from the performances he had put on earlier on in the season. Mumbai Indians will have to find some way to get rid of the Aussie batter otherwise the game could be done and dusted in no time.

Explosive counterattack from Travis Head leads massive chase as MI struggle
The Sunrisers Hyderabad had a total of 244 to chase in the 2nd innings and it looked like a massive chase. The most important aspect would be the start their openers would give them as it has worked well for them on most occasions. In the previous matches, Travis Head used to play the lower hand and Abhishek Sharma used to take on the bowlers. This time as well Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head began their rampage but this time the batting was dominated by Travis Head.
Travis Head began his batting excellence with 3 sixes in an over against Trent Boult. Then he smashed Will Jacks and from then on the bowler bowling the over did not matter alot. Once Travis Head gets going he is an absolute treat to watch and there's nothing much that you can do. The bowlers and the captain can do nothing but just sit back and admire the innings of the batter. Travis Head brought up his half century off just 20 balls and this has put SRH in a dominant position in the game.

With plenty of batting still yet to come down the order for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, they will be hopeful that they can secure another two points. The game is slowly slipping away from the hands of the Mumbai Indians and without a couple of quick wickets, they stand no chance to win the game.
