The Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Travis Head has fired his second half-century of the season against the Kolkata Knight Riders. It has been an innings dominated by power as he got the best out of the powerplay. He wasn’t at his best all season long and things started to change for the Australian in the match against the Mumbai Indians. Head looks in fabulous touch as he strikes the ball cleanly. He isn’t taking much time to get going and the explosiveness that he brings to the start of the innings, can’t be recreated easily by other batters.
Vaibhav Arora was the bowler who first fell prey to Travis Head as he was bowling it constantly at the short length and he was just getting punished with a boundary each time. Ajinkya Rahane turned to Sunil Narine early in the power play to control the damage. Travis Head was in such good form that the bowler didn’t even matter as he smashed Narine as well for a couple of boundaries. Varun Chakravarthy had plenty of success in the season and he did a good job to get rid of Travis Head, before he caused even more damage to the Kolkata Knight Riders.

KKR fight back with timely wickets after Head’s blitz
The Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bat first as it was their home stadium and in day matches, the dew factor has lesser chances of coming to play. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got off to a flying start in the power play with an opening partnership of 44 runs. The carnage didn’t stop with the wicket of Abhishek Sharma as Ishan Kishan also scored a couple of boundaries. Ishan Kishan and Travis Head put up a partnership of 61 runs and that pushed the Kolkata Knight Riders onto the backfoot.
Kartik Tyagi did some good job with the bowl as he was hitting the right lengths in his first over. He got the better off Abhishek Sharma as well early in the innings and that was a huge wicket for KKR. Then the KKR bowlers did suffer a period of hard hitting from the bat of Travis Head, but with the brilliance of Varun Chakravarthy, he was dismissed as well. Sunil Narine has been great with the ball apart from his first over as he went for just 2 runs in his next over even with Heinrich Klaasen on strike.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad will be in a spot of bother as they have lost some wickets in quick succession and the home side will have their hopes pinned on Ishan Kishan for a big innings. They still do have some batting to come down the order and the Kolkata Knight Riders will be hoping to carry the momentum they have generated in this match with the ball.
