The Portland Trail Blazers are expected to emerge as a prime trade suitor for Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason. This was reported by Jake Fischer of The People's Insider. As per the reports Portland Trail Blazers discussed deals for Antetokounmpo with the Bucks before the trade deadline. This move comes as the team is looking to build a trade package revolving around Jerami Grant's whose contract is expiring. This move comes following their 2026 playoffs exit. Portland also aims to use its control over Milwaukee’s future draft capital to facilitate a deal.

Portland Trail Blazers also own the Bucks' first-round picks in 2028, 2029, and 2030 which is as a result of the 2023 Damian Lillard trade. “’The Blazers are expected to emerge as a prime trade suitor for Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo’’ said Jake Fischer. The journalist also revealed that there were discussions regarding the star forward before the league’s annual in-season deadline.

Anthony Davis a potential option if Giannis falls short

In the event where the deal for the Bucks star falls short, Portland has identified Washington Wizards center Anthony Davis as a potential second target. As per reports, The Blazers also reportedly contacted the Mavs before the trade deadline over a possible deal for Anthony Davis. Davis missed the latter half of the season with a finger injury and is seen as a viable addition to pair with Damian Lillard. This move comes in as the organization is also expected to evaluate the trade interest for Jrue Holiday as they look to reshape their roster for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
