Netizens expressed their appreciation towards CSK’s explosive batting against the Lucknow Super Giants in their May 10th clash, and labelled it as ‘batting we longed for ages’. Urvil Patel’s joint fastest fifty in just 13 balls in the history of IPL took everyone by surprise. The mayhem created on the 22 yards with 1,6,6,6,6,6,4,6 in his first 8 balls was the best figures in the history of IPL, after 33 in the first 8 balls previously. LSG reached 208/3 in the first innings thanks to Josh Inglis’ 85 off 33 balls and the quickfire finishing from Himmat Singh and Shahbaz Ahmad. Although Anshul Khamboj and Noor Ahmad were good, the real MVP was the 10th over by Jamie Overton, who took two wickets of Inglis and Rishabh Pant to turn the game. In reply, LSG bowling has not been so effective. Their bowling looked clueless without any plans. Although Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad departed early, it was Urvil Patel, the uncapped wicket-keeper batsman, who was the highlight as he scored 65 runs off 23 balls.
Netizens on X were quick to appreciate Urvil Patel’s batting as ‘extraordinary’ and ‘out of syllabus’. In this must-win game for CSK, netizens couldn’t keep calm to witness CSK’s batting finally reaching its zenith and expressing this is ‘what they have longed for’. CSK’s 97/1 after the power play was definitely a cherry on the cake for the yellow army on social media, as the run chase looked easy ahead. Some are also concerned about the chase after Urvil’s departure, as the batting has slowed down.

Indian Veteran Ravi Shastri appreciates Urvil Patel’s innings as “a breathtaking knock”
Chennai Super Kings wicketkeeper batsman Urvil Patel equalled the record for the joint-fastest half-century in IPL history on Sunday (May 10), smashing 50 off 13 balls along with Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR). Urvil was benched by CSK coach Fleming for the last 10 games, and coming to bat at 3 on tonights game, a crucial must-win game for the yellow army, he scored 65 off 23 with a strike rate of 282, as second explosive strike rate right after CSK legend Suresh Raina.
Fans were in awe of Urvil’s chaos on the pitch, and even former Indian player and head coach Ravi Shastri couldn’t stop himself from admiring this young, uncapped Indian batsman in the commentary box. He appreciated how skillfully Urvil smashed the balls out of the park and what a sensational knock it was.
“It's raining sixes here at Chepauk. Urvil Patel has turned it around for CSK. This is the advantage of playing tennis ball cricket: you smash everything without any fear. This bloke has come all guns blazing & turned the match on its head. It rarely rains in Chennai, but it's raining sixes at Chepauk. A breathtaking knock from the young man. It doesn't matter who the bowler here is,” he said in the commentary box.
