Young cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his international debut and rewrote history by becoming the youngest cricketer to play for India. He broke legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record and received his maiden cap at the age of 15 years and 99 days. Needless to say, hopes were high from the youngster who wreaked havoc in the recently-concluded season of the Indian Premier League, and bagged multiple individual awards. In fact, he also kicked off his first international innings on a high note, and hit his RR teammate Jofra Archer for a six on the first ball.

However, Sooryavanshi’s hopes for a dream debut were crushed on the fifth ball of the fifth over when he was stumped by Jos Buttler off a Will Jacks delivery. Sooryavanshi had to walk back off 14 runs off 10 deliveries with a combination of two maximums. With this, he also became the first Indian batter to be dismissed via stumping on a T20I debut.
