Rajasthan Royals’ batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hit 19 runs off a single over against Josh Hazlewood in RR vs RCB in IPL 2026. The Royals were up against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 16th game of the IPL 2026. Home skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and invited the defending champions to put the score on the board first. Despite a horrible start, the Rajat Patidar-led side put up a total of 201 runs with the loss of eight wickets.

In response, the RR opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gave the side a favorable start. The youngest batting sensation put up a powerful knock of 78 runs off just 26 balls, with a combination of eight boundaries and seven sixes. Josh Hazlewood, who made his season debut after being given clearance following a swift recovery and a fitness clearance, conceded 19 runs in an over against the young batter.

In that particular over, Sooryavanshi hit three consecutive boundaries followed by a six to put up 19 runs in the fourth over. However, the Bihar cricketer was sent back off a Krunal Pandya delivery caught out by former skipper Virat Kohli after a stunning knock of 78 runs.

RR’s middle-order fails to perform against RCB

While the likes of Sooryavanshi and wicketkeeper batter Dhruv Jurel came up with their respective fifties, the middle RR batting order couldn’t manage to do much. Shimron Hetmyer was sent back off a duck off a Krunal Pandya delivery. Apart from him, skipper Riyan Parag could hit only three runs off five balls. He was caught out by Krunal Pandya off a Josh Hazlewood delivery. As of writing, the Royals were batting at 176 with the loss of four wickets.
