In the recently released podcast teaser by Sportsstar, Yuvraj was seen praising the 15- year old Rajasthan Royals’ cricketing prodigy, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Yuvraj Singh heaped high praise on teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, reportedly stating that the 15-year-old’s bat speed is even faster than his own during his peak years.
The comparison between the two left-handers has become a major talking point in IPL 2026 due to their similar high backlifts and explosive power. Yuvraj noted that Suryavanshi's ability to generate velocity through his swing is "phenomenal" for someone his age. Yuvraj previously stated in November 2025 that if anyone has the potential to break his record of six sixes in an over, it is Suryavanshi.
Following Suryavanshi’s 52-ball century against England U19, several experts and fans began referring to him as "Yuvraj Singh on steroids" due to his even more aggressive strike rates and the nostalgia he brings to the people who had watched Yuvraj Singh bat.
Suryavanshi has been in phenomenal form for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) this season. He recently smashed a 15-ball half-century against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 30 March 2026, dismantling their bowling attack.: RR captain Sanju Samson shared a story at the 2026 Naman Awards where Suryavanshi told coach Rahul Dravid he had "no specific plan" other than hitting the first ball in his area for a six, which he then did in the match.
The Royals have provided Sooryavanshi with ultimate freedom in the way he wants to and guides him to not let the outer noise disturb his peace. Parag revealed that he gave Suryavanshi a total security guarantee, telling him, "regardless of what goes on in the game, you're going to play all 14 games", in the post-match presentation where RR won against CSK.
The captain mentioned being highly impressed by Suryavanshi's power-hitting during their two months of pre-season training, which translated perfectly into the match against world-class bowlers.
Will Sooryavanshi repeat his debut innings against GT?
Sooryavanshi will now face the Gujarat Titans in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 4. The last time Sooryavanshi played against the Titans, he delivered a historic performance, smashing an incredible 101 runs off 38 balls to lead Rajasthan Royals to an 8-wicket victory.
