The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have gotten the big wicket of Suryansh Hegde and Virat Kohli took a fine catch in the outfield and he has hurt his finger in the process. Suyash Sharma dished out a wider delivery which seemed to be an open invitation for Shegde to have a swing at it. He got a decent connection off the bat but it didn’t have the legs to go all the way and Virat Kohli completed the catch. Suryansh Shegde was looking dangerous with the bat but RCB’s leggie has done the job to get rid of the big fish.
The Punjab Kings were looking good with the innings of Suryansh Shegde building with the odd boundary in the overs. There was a partnership building between Suryansh Shegde and Cooper Connolly but the untimely wicket of Connolly might have just put them off. The youngster played a fine knock of 35 off 22 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes. Shegde would be disappointed that he couldn’t carry on with his innings and he was looking in excellent touch.
Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh keep hopes alive for PBKS in crucial run chase against RCB
It was a difficult run chase for the Punjab Kings as they had to chase down 223 runs in a pitch where batting doesn’t seem all that easy. The ball hasn’t been coming on to the bat as well as the batters would have liked. Priyansh Arya and Prabshimran SIngh failed to give the Punjab Kings the required start as both of them were dismissed off low scores. Bhuvneshwar Kumar once again prevailed in the powerplay with two big wickets of the openers. Rasikh Salam was brought in as the impact player and he made an impact immediately with the wicket of Shreyas Iyer.
The game still lies in the balance for both the teams as they will have to hold their nerve in the final session of the game. Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh have done a great job to keep the team alive in the run chase with some great boundary striking in the latter half. They still do have a lot to do in this run chase but they do have a huge task in their hands. RCB have their strike bowlers in the last 5 overs of the game and they will be confident that they can tighten the screws on this one. The fans will be in for a dramatic finish as both the teams are battling it out on the field to secure the 2 points.
