Vaibhav Suryavanshi displayed an absolutely fearless knock against one of the best bowling attacks in the IPL, as he even smashed a six off the first ball of Jasprit Bumrah. A clumsy moment that occurred during the match in which Vaibhav lost his balance and fell over the stumps, while trying to reach the striker’s end. This moment went viral on social media platforms when the youngster lost his balance while trying to make it back to the crease.

The 15-year-old played the ball towards short fine leg. He immediately decided to run, and when his partner, Yashavi Jaiswal, turned down the run, he quickly sprinted towards the striker’s end. Then, after making his ground in an odd moment, he turned and just fell off his feet, crashing onto the stumps, and the crowd reacted in laughter.

15-year-old prodigy lights up rain-hit clash with explosive sixes off Jasprit Bumrah in statement knock

The Rajasthan Royals opener, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, was all over the internet as he shocked the cricketing world with his power-hitting against the likes of Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. The match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians was affected by rain, and it was an 11-over contest between the sides. The fans were in for a power-hitting masterclass as both teams had power-packed batting units, and with a lesser number of overs at hand, they were in for a treat.

All the fans waited for the moment to see Vaibhav face Jasprit Bumrah in the IPL. Facing the first ball of the over, he majestically smashed the ball over long-on for six and stamped his authority on the game. He even drew a smile from the face of Bumrah as he seemed to be surprised at his approach. Then Bumrah bowled a slower ball into his hip, and this time Vaibhav waited on the ball and pulled it over square leg for another six. Even the modern-day T20 greats of the game, such as Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, haven’t been able to hit a six off Bumrah, but this young prodigy hit one off the very first ball he faced. In the next over of the game, he smashed Trent Boult for a six as well. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi went on to score 39 off just 14 balls, including 1 four and 5 sixes and at a strike rate of 278.57.

This phenomenal display of batting was not just an innings but a statement by the youngster to the selectors that, in spite of all the young talents that the Indian Team possesses, they will have to reserve a spot for the 15-year-old from Bihar. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already achieved what many of the current stars dream of, and the frustration he showed when he was dismissed by Shardul Thakur shows that he will settle for nothing less.
