West Indies have announced their squad for the upcoming 2026 WT20 which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Shai Hope returns to lead the West Indies side and they have named a very strong squad for this marquee event. Shai Hope was resting in the previous series against UAE and he is back. Evin Lewis has been left out of the squad while Sampson has been backed despite not doing much in his debut series. Sampson did well for Guyana Amazon Warriors and was the third-highest run scorer for them in the previous edition of the CPL, scoring 241 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 151.57. Alzarri Joseph has not been able to recover completely from the injury and has been left out of the squad.

Pacer Shamar Joseph also returns to the squad. He has been out of action for the last few months due to injury but makes him comeback. Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Jayden Seales and Romario Shepherd will be the pace bowling options along with Shamar Joseph. West Indies have retained 11 out of the 15 members from the previous 2024 WT20 squad.

They have a powerful batting lineup with Johnson Charles, Brandon King and captain Shai Hope at the top of the order while Roston Chase, Sherfane Rutherford, Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell are the middle order options. They have also named both left-arm spinners Gudakesh Motie and Akeal Hosein. Shai Hope is expected to be the wicket-keeper while Charles also provides an option for them in case of an injury.

West Indies have been placed in Group C alongside England, Scotland, Nepal and Italy. West Indies will begin their campaign on February 7 against Scotland at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They will be keen to have a successful tournament this time around. They will be having a T20I series against South Africa and a warm up match against Afghanistan before the start of the WT20.
