The Gujarat Titans (GT) are set to swap their traditional jersey for a lavender jersey in their home fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow, for the fourth consecutive year. This special initiative, led by captain Shubman Gill and the franchise management, serves as a powerful statement against cancer. By donning the lavender jersey, the color associated with all types of cancer awareness, the Gujarat Titans aim to spread awareness regarding cancer and the importance of early detection.

According to GT’s Chief Operating Officer, Colonel Arvinder Singh, the lavender initiative has evolved into a core tradition for the franchise. They are using one of the most celebrated sporting events in India to spread awareness regarding an important issue. The main aim of the initiative is to express solidarity with the cancer victims while educating the public about the same. Through this gesture, the Titans hope to inspire millions of viewers to support cancer survivors and to contribute to the building of an empathetic community in the country.

Gujarat Titans eye top spot as Shubman Gill’s side continue dominant late-season surge

Currently in the third spot in the table, the Gujarat Titans have an important set of fixtures in their schedule. They are seated at a comfortable position in the table and by considering the 16-point mark as the cutoff, they will have to win just one from their next 3. Their primary focus will be to secure a spot at the top of the table and it is very well within their reach. There has been a late resurgence from the Titans as they have won 4 games on the trot and the form of their players have been exceptionally good.

Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharshan have returned to their best as they are giving the side some solid starts that they have been craving all season. Jos Buttler is a fine player at number 3 and the kind of strength they have in their top 3 is arguably the best in the tournament. When it comes to bowling, it is their power play bowling that has set the tone in the majority of the games. Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada have been brilliant with the new ball and they disrupt the momentum of the opposition in no time. The inclusion of Jason Holder has been the ‘X factor’ of the side as he can contribute with the bat and with the ball.

The Gujarat Titans will be hoping to win their game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad to go at the top of the table. They will be almost confident about their spot in the playoffs but they will need to keep their form up and running to finish in the top 2 of the table. Shubman Gill and his side will be hopeful that they can be in contention for the title, just like in their debut season.
