India won the toss and opted to bowl first against New Zealand in the fourth T20I match at Vizag. The only change India made was Arshdeep Singh replacing Ishan Kishan. The reason given by Suryakumar Yadav was that Ishan Kishan picked up a niggle in the last game. Ishan Kishan has been in splendid form in the last few months and continued showing his class in the international circuit. He was dismissed for eight runs in the first T20I match. He made a comeback after two years and it did not go well. But he immediately bounced back in the second T20I match. Ishan Kishan walked in at 6/1 and it was a brutal onslaught as he smashed 76 runs of just 32 balls which included eleven fours and four sixes. Let us look at how Twitter reacted to this change made by Team India.
In the second T20I, Ishan Kishan took the game on in power play of India’s run chase, Ishan Kishan was batting on 56 runs from 23 balls which was the second highest individual score by an Indian batter in powerplay. He scored a 21 ball half-century. In the third match he continued the same as after coming in when India were 0/1, Kishan smashed his second ball for a six. He made a quick fire 28 in the third T20I.

A bowler replacing a batter did not make sense as India have seven bowling options. Some fans felt that Shreyas Iyer could have been given the chance at Number 3 if Ishan Kishan was not fit. While others questioned whether Ishan was dropped to take the pressure off Sanju Samson.
A few of the fans on twitter posted pictures of Ishan Kishan practicing in the pre match and were questioning whether if Ishan Kishan really had a niggle. Other section of fans were of the opinion that this was possibly the worst time for Ishan Kishan to pick up a niggle.
India are bowling first and currently leading the series 3-0 and they will be keen to continue their dominant form in T20Is with the upcoming WT20 set to begin in a few weeks.
