Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have absolutely dominated the proceedings in the power play with a sensational 105-run partnership. The bowlers of the Punjab Kings seem to be clueless as they are yet to pick a wicket. Despite the duo not being able to perform in most of the matches this season, they have taken the Sunrisers Hyderabad to a commanding position with a power-hitting masterclass on display.

The X viewers were delighted with the powerful duo dominating the power play. They praised the six-hitting show of Abhishek Sharma, who got to a quickfire fifty, and Travis Head has also got off to a fine start. They will be hoping that the duo can carry on for a bit longer and take the Sunrisers Hyderabad to a mammoth total.

 

Punjab Kings left clueless as SRH’s aggressive strokeplay tears apart bowling attack

The Punjab Kings skipper, Shreyas Iyer, had won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Sunrisers Hyderabad had their star duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma opening the innings. Arshdeep Singh hasn’t been at his best in the IPL so far, as he hasn’t picked a wicket in the last 9 matches in the power play. Arshdeep Singh was handed the bowl to bowl the first over,r and he did pretty well as he conceded just 9 runs from the over. Abhishek Sharma was able to get going in the over of Xavier Bartlett, as he scored two boundaries off the over. The 3rd over of the innings, bowled by Arshdeep Singh, is what shifted the momentum entirely towards the Sunrisers Hyderabad.  

Abhishek Sharma smashed two fours off the first two balls of the over,r and Arshdeep Singh seemed to be clueless. Then he bowled four wides in the over, and he was struggling to bowl fair deliveries, and the clock was ticking as well. Then, when he landed fair deliveries in the final balls of the over, he was smoked for two sixes off the bat of Abhishek Sharma. Marco Jansen was introduced to the attack in the following over,r and Travis Head smashed him for 2 fours and a six, and he got his innings going as well.

The Punjab Kings were forced to use their fourth seamer, and Vijaykumar Vyshak was brought into the attack. Abhishek Sharma hit the bowler for four sixes in the over and raced to his half-century off just 18 balls. Xavier Bartlett was introduced back into the attack, and Travis Head scored three consecutive fours off the first 3 balls of the over. The Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 105 runs off the power play, and things are looking terrible for the Punjab Kings.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are off to a flying start in this match as they have reached the highest power play total ever at the PCA New Cricket Stadium, Tira. They have lived up to their reputation of fearless batting, and a 250+ score could be well on the cards with the likes of Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen to follow.
