The Mumbai Indians got off to a decent start in the power play as they scored 48 runs but lost two crucial wickets. The batting unit missed the presence of Rohit Sharma at the top of the order and Mumbai found a new opening pair. Ryan Rickelton and Quinton de Kock opened the innings, but it was short lived as Arshdeep Singh dismissed Rickelton in the third over.
Suryakumar Yadav was brought in at No.3 but was dismissed for a golden duck as he edged the ball straight to Yuzvendra Chahal. The Mumbai Indians were in a spot of bother as they lost two from their top order at such an early stage. But Quinton de Kock and Naman Dhir was able to play a few good shots and find the boundary gaps. Naman Dhir was also dropped on 10 by Chahal and the batter will be looking to make the most of the opportunity.
The Mumbai Indians do have plenty of batting to come down the order but they will need a strong partnership here to get to a decent total. The pitch isn’t exactly a batting pitch and the batters will need to get adjusted to the pitch as quickly as possible. The experts hinted that the ideal total would be between 185 to 190.
