Sanju Samson and Dewald Brevis helped the CSK side to set a fine total on board but they were halted by Kartik Tyagi as he bowled brilliantly towards the end. The KKR will have to chase this down to get their 1st win of the season.
The Chennai Super Kings have put up a fine display against the Kolkata Knight Riders so far. The Chennai batting unit was able to get off the blocks quickly in the powerplay as they had scored 72 runs. But somewhere along their path, they had stumbled and failed to generate that kind of momentum in the game. The Kolkata Knight Riders managed to control the damage and limit the Chennai Super Kings to 192/5 after the 20 overs. However, the Kolkata Knight Riders have lost both their openers in the power play and managed to score just 36 runs.
The X users were in appreciation for the knock of Sanju Samson as he gave Chennai a much needed start in the powerplay. Ayush Mhatre was also able to have an impact in the game with a fine knock of 38. The CSK fans also celebrated the return of Dewald Brevis as it was his first game of the season and he scored 41 off just 29 balls. But the batting of the Kolkata Knight Riders have been criticised as they are struggling to chase this total down.

KKRβs shaky powerplay raises concerns despite depth as CSK bowlers tighten grip on the game
The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane had won the toss and elected to field first. The Chennai Super Kings were coming off their first victory of the season in their previous match against the Delhi Capitals. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson opened the innings to give their side a solid start. Ruturaj Gaikwad had once again failed to get a decent knock as he was dismissed for just 7 runs. Sanju Samson and Ayush Mhatre then carried on the innings by getting a good partnership of 47 runs. Then came in Dewald Brevis for the first time this season and he scored a powerful cameo of 41 off just 29 balls. They did not get to the best of finishes as Kartik Tyagi bowled brilliantly at the death to keep things tight for the batters. The Chennai Super Kings posted a total of 192/5 after the 20 overs.
In the 2nd innings of the match, the Kolkata Knight Riders were desperate to chase it down as they are yet to win a game in the season. Sunil Narine and Finn Allen had opened the innings for the side but it didnβt last long as Finn Allen was dismissed by Anshul Kamboj. Sunil Narine was looking good with a couple of sixes but Khaleel Ahmed got rid of the batter. They were off to a very slow start in the powerplay with just 36 runs on board.
Things did not get any better for the Knight Riders as Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ajinkya Rahane were dismissed shortly after. Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein have been brilliant with the ball as they have been able to bowl in the right areas and outfox the batters. Noor Ahmad bowled a sensational ball to get rid of Cameron Green, as the batter had no idea where the ball was headed. KKR has gone from 79/3 to 85/5 and now itβs a huge chase for the visitors.

Despite the slow start, the Kolkata Knight Riders will be confident that they do have the likes of Rinku Singh and Rovman Powell at the crease. They do have plenty of power hitters to come in but form would be an area of concern for them.
