The Mumbai Indians’ clash against the Rajasthan Royals, even though got interrupted by rain, but the young players of the Royals smashed the MI players for big shots. As the match concluded and Yashasvi Jaiswal was asked about what made him hit the experienced bowlers of MI for such big sixes, he credited the 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Despite Jaiswal being an established international opener, he expressed that Suryavanshi's fearless approach, particularly against elite bowlers, has motivated him to further evolve his own game.
Yashasvi Jaiswal said, “I was thinking Vaibhav Suryavanshi can take on Jasprit Bumrah, the way he has been playing, it’s tremendous. He’s working so hard, I also got motivated by him that I need to develop some different shots”.
The dynamic between the two players was most evident during a rain-affected 11-over match against the Indians on April 7, 2026. Jaiswal credited Suryavanshi's explosive 14-ball 39 for easing the pressure on him, allowing Jaiswal to anchor the innings and finish with an unbeaten 77 off 32 balls.
