Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, regarded as one of the most efficient and tactically rewarded players to have donned the Indian jersey, is set to take a plunge in his cricketing career. According to reports, Singh is all set to take on a new role and will be joining the Delhi Capitals’ coaching staff for the forthcoming edition of the IPL 2027. As per the Times of India, Sourav Ganguly is expected to lead the team’s support staff when JSW Group returns to take control for the next two years, and he will have his former teammate in the dugout with him.

The reports were confirmed by a senior member of the franchise. In case Singh or JSW Sports founder and director Parth Jindal confirm the news, this would mark the first coaching stint for the ODI World Cup 2011 Man of the Tournament. Though Singh has mentored players such as Abhishek Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, Shubman Gill, he is yet to be a part of a formal coaching setup.

Who wouldn’t want Yuvraj Singh in the dugout?- Source states amid rumours of former cricketer joining DC

Yuvraj Singh, who made an impact in the Indian cricket and was known as one of the most fearless cricketers to play for Men in Blue, has closely mentored the new generation players. What makes him stand apart from the others is his approach which is not only restricted to phone calls or virtual sessions. He is known for spending hours on the ground with his players, and this would surely help players in the Delhi Capitals camp moving forward.

"Who wouldn't want Yuvraj Singh in the dugout? Many of his former teammates, including Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag, have had coaching stints in the IPL,” the Times of India quoted a source as saying.

"He doesn't just train players; he mentors them. It's not limited to phone calls or virtual sessions. He spends hours on the ground, often standing behind the nets and working under the sun alongside his players. It's a genuinely hands-on approach that has benefited numerous cricketers," it added.
