In the times that we live in today, Cricket isn’t the only thing that’s part of the game; a lot of shenanigans, too, have added up to tell the entire narrative. Or shall one say, dramatise the entire aspect of the game that we see, focus on and commentate on, at a later stage. Nothing could be more indicative of this than the recent fiasco that sort of troubled noted Indian cricket spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal. A veteran of the game now, if one can say, Chahal who’s been around for nearly or close to a decade has been a reliable spin option for the side particularly in white ball cricket. He was a mainstay of the team during the time of cricketers like Shikhar Dhawan and Kedar Yadav. But then truth be told, ever since the emergence - and - rise of talents like Varun Chakravarthy, as also is the case with Ravi Bishnoi, the likes of Chahal have struggled to consistently feature in the Indian team.  

It’s not that he doesn’t make news; when not for his leg spinning exploits on the turf, his name appears with respect to linkages with Bollywood celebrities. Ever since his noted fall out with his former wife, Dhanashree, Chahal finds his personal life elaborated upon in tabloids and Bollywood gossip channels.

And a recent instance irked him or so it seems.

Seen leaving a Mumbai restaurant with noted Cricket presenter Shafali Bagga, the duo that never were, suddenly seemed to become, at least, in the public eyes.

Later on, Yuzi Chahal appeared on a channel to clarify his stance.

“After 6-8 months I went to Bombay. And after eating many a meal in my hotel, when I ventured out to enjoy a meal outside in a restaurant, much was made of my eating out with another friend. It’s not necessary that if two people who are friends.. girl and a boy.. are having a meal together.. that they are a couple!” The sighting led many fans and gossip pages to speculate publicly that Chahal and Bagga might be dating. There’s no official confirmation from either Chahal or Shefali Bagga about any romantic relationship. But Chahal has denied his romantic involvement with the Delhi born cricket presenter.
