KRAFTON India has officially announced the BGMI Showdown (BMSD) 2026, introducing a new tournament format for India's top BGMI teams. Unlike BGIS, which has open registrations, BMSD is an invite-only competition featuring 48 teams selected based on their performances during the 2026 BGMI esports season. The tournament will run from September 22 to October 18 and conclude with an offline LAN Grand Finals. It also features a INR 1 crore prize pool. Check out the BMSD 2026 format.

BMSD 2026 Format Explained

The tournament begins with 48 invited teams. These teams will compete across multiple stages before the champion is crowned.

The tournament is divided into the following phases:

  • Promotion & Relegation (3 Weeks)

  • Upper Bracket Survival

  • Lower Bracket Survival

  • Semi Finals

  • Last Chance Stage

  • LAN Grand Finals

Promotion & Relegation Stage

This is the first stage of the tournament.

All 48 teams will be divided into three groups of 16 teams. The Promotion & Relegation stage will be played over three weeks, giving every team multiple chances to improve its standing before moving to the next phase.

Upper and Lower Bracket Survival

After the Promotion & Relegation stage, teams will move into either the Upper Bracket Survival or the Lower Bracket Survival.

These rounds are important because teams must perform well to stay alive in the tournament. Poor performances could push teams closer to elimination, while consistent results will keep them in the race for the title.

Semi Finals and Last Chance

The next stage is the Semi Finals, where the remaining teams battle for direct qualification to the Grand Finals.

Teams that fail to qualify from the Semi Finals will get one final opportunity in the Last Chance Stage. As the name suggests, this is their final chance to secure a place in the LAN Finals.

LAN Grand Finals

The best teams from the tournament will qualify for the offline LAN Grand Finals, scheduled from October 16 to October 18.

KRAFTON India has confirmed the LAN Finals dates, but the venue has not been announced yet. The champion will take home the biggest share of the INR 1 crore prize pool.
