Indian esports is set for a historic moment today as GodLike Esports and Orangutan enter the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026 Grand Finals. The two teams have become the first Indian teams to qualify for the PMWC Grand Finals, making this one of the biggest achievements for Indian PUBG Mobile and BGMI esports on the international stage.
Only two Indian teams participated in PMWC 2026, and both have reached the final 16. Before the tournament, there were questions about how the Indian teams would perform against experienced international PUBG Mobile teams. However, Orangutan and GodLike have answered those questions with their performances in the Group Stage.
Orangutan's Brilliant Run to the PMWC 2026 Grand Finals
Orangutan competed in Group A and started its campaign with a more controlled approach. The team collected 45 points on Day 1 and was sitting in sixth place.
Day 2 completely changed their position. Orangutan improved its overall performance and finished the Group Stage with 91 points, taking second place in Group A. This allowed the Indian team to directly qualify for the Grand Finals without playing the Survival Stage.
Their combination of smart rotations, placement points and important finishes helped them survive one of the toughest international lobbies.
GodLike Showed India's Aggressive Side
GodLike Esports had a different journey in Group B. After finishing Day 1 with 37 points, the team needed a much stronger performance on the final day.
They delivered exactly that.
GodLike played extremely aggressively on Day 2, including a massive opening Rondo match where they secured a 20-finish Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. The Indian squad eventually finished Group B in third place with 105 points, earning direct qualification to the Grand Finals.
With both teams qualifying, India went two out of two at the Group Stage. GodLike and Orangutan are officially the first Indian teams to reach a PUBG Mobile World Cup Grand Final.
A Historic Day for Indian Esports
This achievement is bigger than just reaching another tournament final. Indian teams have spent years trying to establish themselves again on the international PUBG Mobile stage.
Now, two Indian representatives will compete among the world's final 16 teams at the World Cup.
Orangutan has already shown that India can compete through consistency and smart gameplay, while GodLike has displayed the aggressive firepower Indian teams are known for.
