
In a heartwarming moment away from all the spotlight, Lionel Messi’s youngest Ciro teamed up with Lautaro, the son of Uruguayan great Luis Suarez and reanimated Suarez’s famous Pistolero' celebration. The duo were seen doing it during Inter Miami academy graduates' practice this week.
The Pistolero is Suarez’s trademark celebration which he showcased after scoring a goal. He fired in the air with his hands to celebrate his goals. It was an iconic moment when the two young guns were captured recreating this celebration and it says a lot about the family ties between Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Ciro is a regular in Inter Miami’s youth setup and recently won the prestigious Weston Cup with the U-8 team earlier this year while Lautaro arrived at the youth up in 2024 following Suarez’s transfer to Inter Miami. Both of them have been friends since their time in Barcelona where Messi and Suarez lit up the pitch week in week out.

What is the Pistolero Celebration?
The Pistolero celebration belongs to Luis Suarez. He was nicknamed El Pistolero (“The Gunslinger”) early in his career because of his habit of firing in the air with his hand after scoring a goal. This celebration became a natural sight for Barcelona fans during Suarez’s time with the Catalan giants.
It was a famous celebration among football fans across the globe and this celebration symbolised Suarez’s ruthless nature in front of goal and how he eliminated opposition defenders and goalkeepers on the pitch.
