Dele Alli, an English international footballer, played as an attacking midfielder for FC COMO in the Serie A. The 29-year-old joined the Italian side COMO in the previous January transfer window but it turned out to be a very short one. Alli made only one appearance throughout the second half of the season in which he was sent off just 10 minutes after paving his way as a substitute.

Dele had signed an initial 18-month contract at Como, before which he was playing for the Premier League club Everton. The club Manager Cesc Fabregas does not count Dele Alli in his plans for the club this season, which is why the club made the decision to release the player. The former Tottenham player made his journey to Everton in the year 2022, however he made just 13 appearances for the club before being loaned out to the Turkish club Besiktas. His term at the Super Lig club was short lived due to a hip injury because of which he was sidelined from the squad.

Dele was not part of the club’s immediate plans: FC COMO

FC COMO and Dele Alli released a joint statement which stated, “Como 1907 and Dele Alli have agreed to a mutual termination of his contract. Dele is keen to secure regular playing opportunities and, as he was not part of the club’s immediate plans, both parties felt it was the right decision to part ways ahead of the transfer window closing. The club thanks Dele for his time at Como and wishes him the very best for the future.”

Several clubs would be looking forward to signing the attacking midfielder due to the skills that he possesses. Alli had stated in a viral interview a few months back stating that his aim is to make his way to the England squad before the World Cup 2026 and help his country lift the most prestigious trophy. It will be interesting to see which club would sign the English midfielder and if he can add the value needed in the team.
