Manchester United, one of the biggest teams in the Premier League, have been going through a tough phase for quite a while now, having lost to Brentford 3-1 away from home in the previous match. Today’s match against Sunderland involved high stakes for the manager Ruben Amorim as dropping valuable points could have led to his job being on the line.

However, the sun shone bright for Manchester United at their home ground Old Trafford as they produced a dominant performance against Sunderland, winning 2-0. With that, they bounced back from the defeat against Brentford and managed to secure three pointsagainst the Black Cats. In a rare sight for Manchester United, with their new goalkeeper Senne Lammens announced in the starting lineup, they finally managed to secure a clean sheet, with the last one coming against Leeds United in the pre-season friendlies.

Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko register themselves on scoresheet for Red Devils

This is Manchester United’s third straight home win at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim in the Premier League, and the major part of it being played by the fans who haven't stopped supporting the club during these tough phases and backing the players to make a promising return. It was Mason Mount who started the scoring for Manchester United in the eighth minute with a sublime first touch taking the ball away from the defender and guiding it beautifully into the back of the net, which was assisted by Bryan Mbeumo who had a splendid first half.

It was the big summer signing Benjamin Sesko, who doubled the lead for Manchester United by getting ahead of the defender and guiding the ball with his foot into the bottom corner in the 31st minute, making it two goals in two games for himself. Senne Lammens had a great debut with the Red Devils as he made some critical decisions during the game which proved beneficial to the team. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can keep this momentum going after the conclusion of the international break when they face the defending champions Liverpool away from home at Anfield on October 19 in the Premier League.
