The Professional Footballer Association’s award ceremony was held at the Manchester Opera House on Tuesday night to award the respective players for their terrific contributions in the previous campaign. The Premier League veteran and the greatest Egyptian player of all time, Mohamed Salah created history as he won the PFA Player’s Player of the Year award for the third time in his career following his victories in 2017-18 and 2021-22.

It didn't come across as a surprise for many football fans considering the fact that the 33-year-old displayed some astonishing performances across all competitions last season. Salah scored a total of 29 goals and provided 18 assists for Liverpool in the previous season which played a crucial factor in The Red’s lifting the Premier League last season. The race for the award was heavily contested by Bruno Fernandes and Alexander Isak who could potentially be seen as Salah’s Liverpool team-mate next season. However, the Egyptian international emerged as the clear winner of the award following yet another unforgettable campaign.

Reflecting on his journey, Mohamed Salah stated, "I look at myself now, a guy coming from Egypt and making it to the top level, making history today, it's something that makes me so proud." Salah was not the only one to go back home with silverware. Aston Villa youngster Morgan Rogers won the PFA Men’s young player of the year award. Man City’s latest signing James Trafford became the first goalkeeper to win the Championship Player of the Year following his outstanding performances for Burnley in the Championship last season. 

Four players from Liverpool and three players from Arsenal sealed their spot in the Premier League team of the season for 2024-25 marking the team's dominance throughout the campaign. The former English Head Coach, Gareth Southgate received the PFA merit award for his valuable contributions for the English national team. In the women’s category, Arsenal’s women sensation Mariona Caldentey was awarded the PFA Women's Player of the Year award. While the most expensive signing in women’s football history, Olivia Smith from Arsenal won the PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year.
