Giangluigi Donnarumma, the Italian goalkeeper, 26, has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester City, to join them in the ongoing summer transfer window after leaving his current club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). It is understood that Manchester City and PSG are currently negotiating a deal for the transfer of the player, but this is contingent on whether Ederson exits the English club this summer, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

As per the aforementioned Italian journalist, the initial €50m request from PSG for Gianluigi Donnarumma is something Manchester City will be able to get reduced during their ongoing negotiations if the move does end up taking place. The Turkish club Galatasaray are interested in signing Ederson before the closure of the ongoing summer transfer window, which will have a huge bearing on the future of the Italian’s impending club career.

Gianluigi Donnarumma bid farewell to PSG fans during Ligue 1 match on August 23

With the arrival of French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, 23, from Lille this summer, Gianluigi Donnarumma has already bid farewell to the PSG fans during their recent outing at Parc des Princes in the Ligue 1 against Angers, which they won 1-0 on Saturday, August 23. During his four year stay at PSG, the Italian went on to win four straight Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France titles, and the coveted UEFA Champions League at the end of 2024-25 season.

Moreover, Manchester City have already signed their former academy player James Trafford in goal from the newly promoted Burnley in the ongoing summer transfer window. Although the mistake from the 22-year-old in yesterday’s 2-0 home defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League has raised some doubts about his quality, which is something Manchester City will also be well aware of.

With that, the club, under Pep Guardiola’s management, must be pushing for the deal to be done for Gianluigi Donnarumma at the earliest.
