Xavi Simons, a 22-year-old Dutch international, played as an attacking midfielder for the German club RB Leipzig. Initially signed on loan, Xavi Simons created an instant impact in the team which forced the club to sign him permanently. In the previous campaign, he scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in the 33 matches. But the Dutch midfielder is now all set to feature in the Premier League as he is nearing to complete a move to Tottenham.
Tottenham Hotspurs have reportedly agreed on a massive €60m deal to sign the attacking midfielder on a permanent deal. With speculations hitting the roof, RB Leipzig have given green light to the Spurs' offer and are willing to let the player leave to North London, as per Fabrizio Romano. Spurs were prioritizing a move for a number 10 before the end of the transfer window and but they have managed to get on board Xavi Simons.
Xavi Simons completes medical before moving to Tottenham: Reports
The 22-year-old has reportedly completed his medical ahead of his move to Tottenham and is expected to sign the contract at any moment from now. Xavi Simons will become the latest summer arrival for Spurs after they completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United and Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich.
Spurs will overall be happy on how the transfer window has panned out for them so far. With the crucial additions, they are currently looking very stabilized under their new manager Thomas Frank. Moreover, Tottenham have started the Premier League season on a positive note with two wins in as many games. They will be keen on keeping the flame burning and continue the winning streak with the addition of Xavi Simons.
