Tunisia has announced their final 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and this would mark their seventh appearance in the World Cup. They have been drawn into Group F alongside Sweden, Japan and Netherlands. The side is all set to be under the captaincy of Ellyes Skhiri and the manager for the World Cup is Sabri Lambouchi. Tunisia will be keen to get past the group stage this time out as they haven’t yet succeeded from the initial stages. Hannibal Mejbri, the former Manchester United player will be one of the players to look out for in the side.
In the 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup, Tunisia was drawn into a competitive group as they had to face France, Australia and Denmark. They kicked off their campaign with a goalless draw against Denmark and then in the next game, their result became even worse as they lost against Australia. Having been down and out in the first two games of the World Cup, they were determined to change things in the last match. Tunisia took on a star studded France side and they still managed to secure the win by a goal. Their result against France would have given them a lot of pride and honour, but it wasn’t good enough to take them into the knockout stages.

Tunisia will be looking to get past the group stage in their seventh attempt but they will have it in the back of their mind that it isn’t going to be the easiest of tasks. It will be interesting to see how their approach will be in the World Cup as they have been around the global stage for quite some time, but they do lack in making an impact. The nation and its fans will be hopeful of having something extra to cheer about in this World Cup campaign.
