Irrespective of which grid position he originally qualifies for at Monza, home to the Italian Grand Prix, Sir Lewis Hamilton will be struck with a five-place grid drop for the forthcoming race. The penalty has been imposed on Hamilton for not slowing down his SF-25 sufficiently under the yellow flag conditions during the recently held 2025 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. On the whole, Sir Lewis Hamilton’s Netherlands-bound weekend did become a nightmarish one on account of the Briton having crashed out on the 72-lap contest last weekend.

Then, additionally being struck with a five place grid drop for the very next race doesn’t really inspire a lot of confidence, does it? How can it, especially when one is struggling with form, drivability and adjustment issues in one’s car and then is told that he’d be reprimanded with a further penalty.

But in truth, Sir Hamilton hardly seems concerned despite the outbreak of his forthcoming penalty. On the contrary, the valiant seven-time world champion has exclaimed that he’s willing to fight on and alludes to the fact that he’s taking it in his stride. That being told, what exactly did the great Briton say ahead of the big Ferrari home race at Monza that’s about to unfold?

Lewis Hamilton remarked, as per BBC Sport, "The penalty gives me more to fight for!" Furthermore, here’s what his own impressions about his recent racing action, "I did lift. Just to their mind not enough. To get the penalty and (licence) penalty points was pretty hardcore. Not great when you're going into your first Monza GP for Ferrari, but it gives me more to fight for."

What happened to Lewis Hamilton in Dutch F1 race?

Hamilton crashed out much before his Ferrari teammate Leclerc DNF’d at Zandvoort which meant that both Ferrari cars endured a DNF and hence, a rather forgettable race at The Netherlands.

That being told, in what’s to come, Ferrari primed to race at its own home turf, expectations are sky high about a rebound in form. After all, it was very much here at Monza, last year, where Charles topped the race and became the first driver to cross the checkered flag; Sainz, his then teammate, secured a fighting fourth.

What can be expected this time around, but? This is the main talking point for both drivers and their inveterate fans in and around Italy!
