In the IPL 2025 auction, Rishabh Pant became the costliest player of the IPL history, as the Lucknow Super Giants bought him for a massive INR 27 crore. He became the most expensive player in the history of IPL Auction and was appointed the captain of Lucknow Super Giants.

Mumbai batter and IPL 2024 winning team captain Shreyas Iyer was signed for Rs 26.75 crore by Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 mega auction. He led KKR to the title in 2024 IPL and was in high demand during the 2025 Auction. Ricky Ponting, coach of PBKS was desperate to get him and PBKS brought him. He led PBKS to Final of IPL 2025.

Cameron Green was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders for 25.2 Crore which is the highest in IPL 2026 Mini Auction and third most expensive of all time. The all-rounder from Australia was in high demand ahead of the auction and went big in the auction.

In 2024, Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc was signed by KKR for INR 24.75 crore. He was terrific and played a big part in making Kolkata Knight Riders champions in IPL 2025. The Australian pacer is the second most expensive overseas player in the history of IPL Auction.

Venkatesh Iyer was sold to KKR for 23.75 Crore in the last IPL Auction. He was getting plenty of attention from both Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru and in the end KKR won the bid and brought the all-rounder. But he did not have a memorable season and struggled in IPL 2025 before being released.
