Formula One on Friday, September 5 confirmed contract extension of the Monaco Grand Prix. Prior to the practice session at the Italian Grand Prix, underway at the Autodrome Nazionale Monza, the F1 authorities announced extension of the Monaco Grand Prix, which will remain on the calendar until 2035.
The iconic circuit on the Mediterranean coast has been part of the F1 schedule since its first season in 1950. And the latest contract renewal will now keep the Monaco Grand Prix in the F1 calendar until 2035. However, the contract was active until 2031, but a recent renewal will keep it further until 2035.
Monaco Grand Prix to stay on F1 calendar until 2035
In a release, F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said, “The streets of Monaco have been echoing with the sound of Formula 1 since the earliest days of the sport, so I’m delighted to announce the extension of this fantastic event to 2035.” “It is an iconic race that is loved by all drivers and fans, with a unique vibe thanks to its location on the world’s most glamorous Principality,” he further added.
Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco, also expressed excitement on his contract extension, stating “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco for his unwavering support, as well as to Stefano Domenicali for his continued trust.”
“The Automobile Club de Monaco is delighted with this four-year extension, which reflects the strong and enduring relationship between Formula 1 and the Principality of Monaco,” he added. In 2025 F1 calendar, McLaren’s Lando Norris secured the podium whereas Charles Leclerc finished second with Oscar Piastri completing the podium. In 2026, the race will be held from June 5 to 7.
