IPL season 15 is upcoming soon. Each year IPL carnival starts with an auction where all franchise buys players according to their needs. This year IPL has a new flavour and avatar. IPL has got 2 new teams added to it. Ahmedabad is owned by CVC Capital and Lucknow Super Giants is owned by RPGS Group. Also, IPL has got brand new sponsor in TATA Sons Pvt adding a desi flavour to it. Now the addition of 2 new teams means a mega auction is looming. The mega auction will take place on 12th and 13th February 2022 in Bangalore.

Normal auction times are exciting for fans but at the same time, nervous ones for players as their fate hangs in the balance. The question revolving around their minds is whether they will get picked or go unsold in the auction. We have seen some crazy paychecks being handed over to players during auction times but at the same time, we have seen many big names going unsold too.

Here we will look at the five top overseas players who might not find any buyers in the upcoming auction.

Shai Hope

He is a dependable wicket-keeper batsman from Caribbean Islands who can be a nightmare for bowlers when he's at his best. Hope has been in decent form for West Indies. At a Base price of ₹50 lakh, he might not attract many buyers as in his category, he is definitely not the first choice option and the franchises would prefer an Indian alternative.

Fabian Allen

The prolific West Indian all-rounder might go unsold in this auction. Allen has been a key part of the West Indies T20 setup and plays a vital role in the team. But when it comes to IPL, his displays have not been good. Allen is yet to find his mojo in the cash-rich league. Last season, he was with Punjab where he played 4 matches scoring only 6 runs. There are many other alternatives available for Fabian Allen's position in this mega auction.

Aaron Finch

The Austrian white-ball captain has been part of IPL for a long time. Finch's journey in IPL has been a fascinating one, he has almost played for all major IPL franchises till now. Unfortunately for him, Finch hasn’t got a long run in any team where we could have settled and shown his talent. Finch played with RCB in the 2020 season where his performance was not up to his standards. He was eventually dropped from the team.

David Miller

David Miller is known as a hard-hitting South African batsman who can bat in the middle and lower-middle order. He has often been called Killer Miller. David Miller's best stint in IPL came with Punjab. He was a crucial part of the Punjab setup from 2014 to 2017. But since IPL 2018, his form and performance have dropped drastically. He was picked by RR in the last auction but hasn’t been good enough for them. It looks like Miller at his base price of 1 cr might go unsold as there are other lucrative options available for franchises at the auction table.

Eoin Morgan

Now seeing this name over here might raise many eyebrows but this might turn out to be true. Morgan was skipper for last year's finalists KKR but his own indivudual performances have been abysmal in IPL. KKR releasing him was a big statement and was a sign that the English white-ball captain might go unnoticed in the auction. At a Base price of 1.5cr, it looks highly unlikely that teams would go for him just for his captaincy.
