While India are still in the United Kingdom for the white-ball series, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the ODI squad for the West Indies series. Shikhar Dhawan is set to become the 7th captain to lead India in 2022 after he has been named the skipper of the team for the three-match ODI series. The ODIs will also be followed by five T20Is which are expected to be played by a full-strength Indian team. The T20I squad will be announced at a later date. Catch all updates here.

India’s squad for 5 T20Is: Rohit Sharma (captain), Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.
*The inclusion of KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav is subject to fitness.
Team India have rested Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yuzvendra Chahal for the T20I against the West Indies while KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav are set to return in the squad.

In a big news concerning India's T20I squad for the tour of West Indies, it is now being reported that Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested while KL Rahul is likely to make a comeback. While there has been all sorts of specualations regarding when the team will be announced, the BCCI has not yet shared the final squad which will play the five-T20I series.
BCCI has delayed the T20I squad selection against the West Indies due to Virat Kohli's injury as per reports. The board is waiting for an update over Kohli's injury status from the medical team.
Indian left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who has taken 21 wickets in this year's IPL for Delhi Capitals, last played for Team India in the third T20I against Sri Lanka in Dharamshala on February 27. The 27-year-old spinner is currently recovering from an injury at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and is expected to be included in the Indian squad for the T20I series against the West Indies.
Indian team selection for the West Indies T20 series has been postponed, it is expected to happen till Wednesday night.
According to reports, all senior multi-format players including skipper Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja have been asked by the selectors to stay available for the selection in a five-match T20Is series against West Indies.
While full-strength squad is expected to take on West Indies in a five-match T20I series, Virat Kohli has asked for a rest from the tour. As per source close to the development selectors are not very happy with the idea of giving rest to Virat Kohli, who is struggling with the bat.
"It not ideal for a player who is struggling with form. But we can't force a player of such reputation to play if he doesn't want," a source told InsideSport. However, report has further claimed that decision on Virat will be made after thorough discussion with captain and the coach.
While BCCI is yet to make any decision over Team India squad for the five-match T20 series against West Indies, former skipper Virat Kohli has requested BCCI to not consider him for the Windies series.

Team India are likely to announce their squad against West Indies for five-match T20I series today. The first T20 match between the Men in Blue and the Windies cricket will kick off on July 29.
