On May 10, 2018, India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant notched up his best IPL innings for Delhi Capitals (DC) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium (then Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium). Batting first after winning the toss, the home side posted 187/5 on the board and Pant played an exceptional knock of an unbeaten 128 off just 63. The southpaw’s innings broke into the record books as the best knock by any DC batter.

Opening for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the left-handed player stitched an unbeaten stand with his captain KL Rahul for the first wicket. Batting first after winning the toss, Lucknow elected to bowl first and the host side delivered a target of 213 to the visitors. Chasing the massive score, LSG lost three quick wickets but Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran showcased their mettle and scored 65 (30) and 62 (19) respectively.

Their innings helped LSG cross the line on the last delivery of the game as tailenders Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi held their nerves and completed the last run on the final delivery to hand their side one-wicket win. Pooran, who entered the record books with his 15-ball fifty, became POTM for his stunning innings.
