Former UFC star Paige VanZant has labeled the relationship and love story of singer Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce. Rumors started to circulate earlier this year that the pair were dating. However, the romance between the two at Swift’s tour in South America cemented the rumors, and since then Taylor has time and again been spotted in the NL games. While the entire world likes the new celeb couple in the town, the former UFC strawweight doesn’t buy it.
VanZant went on to call their love story as well as the love story “100% fake”. Vanzant spoke on her recently-started podcast with her husband Austin Vanderford. On the second episode of the podcast, she and Vanderford commented on the pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
The 29-year-old said, "I think that the Taylor Swift [and] Travis Kelce love story is 100 percent fake. Come for me, Swifties... It is publicity (and) huge for the NFL. Yes, the NFL is big, but Taylor Swift is huge, and now she's getting an entirely different demographic to come watch the NFL... It's a huge publicity play on both fronts."
The Oregonian went on to say that a lot of ‘strategic stuff’ is happening around the two celebrities’ relationship. She commented further, "Think of the wives that are buying Travis Kelce jerseys now... It's good for Taylor Swift, it's good for the NFL, it's good for Travis Kelce. There's so much strategic stuff that's happening.”
After giving her opinion on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship rumors, fans slammed VanZant on her latest Instagram post. A fan wrote, " Didn’t even know who you were until you used Travis and Taylor for clout. Put some clothes on trash!!!! " Another fan wrote, " keep reporting her account since she is spreading false rumors about Taylor "
Notably, VanZant quit the UFC in 2020 in free agency and went on to join the BKFC and participated in two fights.
