I don't know why they have given it to me: Virat Kohli dedicates his player of the match award to Devdutt Padikkal
Virat Kohli won the player of the match for his unbeaten 73* runs off 54 balls as RCB easily chased the target of 158 runs with seven balls remaining. Along with Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal also played a crucial knock of 61 runs off 35 balls as the duo put up a partnership of 103 runs, taking the game away from PBKS. After the match, Kohli dedicated his POTM award to Padikkal saying that the left-hander made a difference in the game.
“I thought Dev made a difference today, this award should go to him, I don't know why they have given it to me. I try to stay there, holding one end up and try to accelerate later,” Virat Kohli said at the post–match presentation.
“One partnership is good enough in T20 cricket during run chase. I can accelerate, but I want to understand the strengths of other players. Holding one end up at the moment, that's working for us,” he further added.
