On Thursday, June 6, the Pakistan cricket team suffered one of their worst defeats in history against the USA in the T20 World Cup 2024 Group A clash. At the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Pakistan posted a below-par total of 159/7, but their bowlers managed to keep the scores level after the completion of the 40 overs, only to lose to the USA in the super over.

In this article, SportsTiger looks at three reasons why Pakistan lost against the  USA in the T20 World Cup 2024  Group A clash.

failure of top order in decent batting conditions

After being put into bat in decent conditions in Dallas, the three of the Pakistani top-order batters were back in the pavilion during the powerplay overs against the USA bowlers, who bowled quite accurately. Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan, and Fakhar Zaman lost their wickets cheaply, which led to Babar Azam batting in his shell in the first half of the innings, and with that, the Pakistan scoreboard went nowhere.
