Back in 2008, when Rajasthan Royals (RR) became the first Indian Premier League (IPL) champions under Shane Warne’s captaincy, their bowling unit played a major role. Sohail Tanvir, Shane Watson, and Warne stepped up and delivered majestic bowling numbers to Rajasthan throughout the competition. This year, RR have some key bowling figures who have the potential to repeat the charismatic performances of the IPL 2008 champions. Discussing more, SportsTiger has come up with RR’s five best bowlers for IPL 2025.

Tushar Deshpande will be bolstering RR’s pace attack this season. In the last couple of seasons, he looked superb with the ball for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The 29-year-old will strive to continue his excellent work in Rajasthan. 

4. Sandeep Sharma

Sandeep Sharma joined RR in 2023 after Prasidh Krishna got ruled out of the 16th IPL edition due to an injury. Taking advantage of the opportunity, he played his role efficiently for a couple of seasons. The speedster was one of RR’s six retained players for IPL 2025 and he will now look to fortify the team’s fast-bowling unit.  

3. Maheesh Theekshana

Maheesh Theekshana will be seen in RR colours in the upcoming competition. The Sri Lanka stalwart will provide support to the Royals’ spin-bowling unit along with his national side’s teammate Wanindu Hasaranga. The 24-year-old was in fine form with the ball against Australia in the three-match ODI series played at home. He grabbed four wickets in two matches at an economy of 3.97.

2. Wanindu Hasaranga

Sri Lanka mainstay spinner Wanindu Hasaranga possesses the capability to make batters dance to his tunes. In the 2022 IPL, he scalped 26 wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 16 outings at an economy of 7.54 and ended up as the second-leading wicket-taker in the competition. This year, RR will want him to spearhead their spin-bowling attack confidently and wreak havoc on batters.

1. Jofra Archer

England fast-bowling spearhead Jofra Archer will be handed the task to lead Rajasthan’s fast-bowling attack in the upcoming competition. The star speedster was part of RR from 2018 to 2020 and during those two years, he bagged 46 wickets in 35 contests at an economy of 7.13. In 2020, he also emerged as the best bowler for RR with 20 wickets in 14 matches at an economy of 6.55. Rajasthan will want the England veteran to produce his best with the ball this season.
