Chennai Super Kings, under the captaincy of MS Dhoni and Mumbai Indians under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, have won five IPL titles each in the history of the tournament. Both the franchises have been the most successful teams in the tournament’s history. While CSK won the title in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023, the MI clinched it in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Sanju Samson registered five fifty-plus scores in IPL 2024
Star Indian batter and former skipper of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Virat Kohli registered five fifty-plus scores in IPL 2024. The 36-year-old finished as the highest run-getter in the 17th edition, amassing 741 runs from 15 innings at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69. His highest score of 113* off 72 deliveries came in RCB’s losing cause against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Apart from Kohli, his teammate Rajat Patidar and RR skipper Sanju Samson also registered most fifty-plus scores in IPL 2024.
VVS Laxman has lost five matches as captain in IPL
Former India cricketer VVS Laxman has lost five matches as captain in IPL history. In the six matches as skipper of the Deccan Chargers in IPL 2008, the team lost five of their matches under VVS Laxman’s captaincy. Moreover, Murali Vijay and David Miller have lost five matches each while captaining Kings XI Punjab (now called Punjab Kings).
