
The Indian Premier League (IPL) will be back with its 2025 season and it will count on its 10 franchises to make the competition blockbuster. In November 2024, these franchises spent a huge amount in the auction in Jeddah to fortify their teams to extract desired results in the upcoming T20 extravaganza. Prior to the massive T20 event, a lot of cricketing action has been happening and noting that, SportsTiger has come up with five names who can be impactful in IPL 2025.

5. Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami will be seen serving Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025. The 2016 champion side signed up India pacer for INR 10 Crore at the auction and the speedster will now be expected to bolster Hyderabad’s bowling attack with his Australia captain Pat Cummins. Shami has looked effective with the ball for India in the Champions Trophy 2025.
4. Rachin Ravindra
Rachin Ravindra has looked magnificent for New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 and he will look to do wonders with his bat for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the tournament to start on March 22. He was bought back by the Yellow Army for INR 4 Crore in the auction.
3. Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer scripted history in the IPL 2025 auction as Punjab Kings (PBKS) fetched him for INR 26.75 Crore. Bagging this colossal amount, Iyer became the second costliest player in the history of the league. Iyer has exuded confidence with his bat for Team India in the Champions Trophy 2025. The right-handed batter has clobbered a couple of fifties in the massive ODI event.
2. Varun Chakravarthy
Varun Chakravarthy was one of six players, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) retained for the 2025 season. In KKR’s third title win in 2024, Chakravarthy chipped in with 21 wickets in 15 matches and ended up as the second-leading wicket-taker. This year, he will look to be dominating against batters again. The leg-spinner has done a fine job for India in the Champions Trophy 2025 and he will strive to carry his excellent form ahead in the league.
1. Abhishek Sharma
Abhishek Sharma can pose a massive threat to bowlers with his attacking playing style. The opener’s extraordinary batting in the previous season helped him to make it to SRH’s retain list. The southpaw showed his batting brilliance against England in the five-match T20I series, played in India. Amassing 279 runs with a ton in five innings at a strike rate of 219.68, he was the leading run-getter in the competition.
