Notably, Norman Pritchard is the first medalist at the Olympics for India at Paris 1900, while the recent medal winner is Bajrang Punia, who achieved the feat at Tokyo 2020 three years ago.

Neeraj Chopra (Gold, Tokyo 2020)
Neeraj Chopra is only the second Indian to win a medal in track-and-field events at the Olympics after the two silver medals for Norman Pritchard at Paris 1900. He won the gold medal at Tokyo 2020 in javelin throw with the best effort of 87.58 metres, staying ahead of the Czechia duo of Jakub Vadlejch and Vitezslav Vesely, to emulate Abhinav Bindra’s individual gold medal win for India from 12 years prior.
