Rohit Sharma has the record for the highest individual score in the history of ODIs, putting together an innings of 264 runs against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in 2014. His innings was instrumental for India to post a total in excess of 400 runs on the board, which they successfully defended for a 153-run victory.
