In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 1, the latter team thrashed the hosts by a huge margin of 100 runs and won their seventh match in the tournament. Hardik Pandya and his men are now the leaders of the points table with seven triumphs and four defeats in their 11 matches. The success against RR is also MI’s sixth victory on the trot. Batting first after losing the toss, the five-time IPL champions delivered a mammoth target of 218 runs to RR.
Chasing the huge target, RR batters looked in a haste and lost wickets at regular intervals. Eventually, the home side failed to handle pressure and capitulated at a score of 117 in 16.1 overs. Mumbai’s sensational comeback impressed netizens as they are showering praise on the Men in Blue for their one-sided win against the Pink Army.

Ryan Rickelton wins the Player of the Match award for fifty vs RR
Following the game, MI opener Ryan Rickelton became the recipient of the Player of the Match (POTM) award winner. The South Africa opener played a swift 61-run innings off just 38 balls. His knock was studded with 10 boundaries (seven fours and three maximums).
It was his second consecutive fifty in the tournament as the left-handed batter also struck a half-century against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Mumbai on April 27. With the tournament heading towards the playoffs, Mumbai will expect Rickelton to maintain his form. MI will next host Gujarat Titans at the Wankhede Stadium on May 6.
