Delhi Capitals assistant coach Shane Watson claims that things have gone southwards in the SRH camp after Simon Katich parted ways as an assistant coach. Katich, who was supposed to be in the coaching team of the Orange Army in IPL 2022, left everyone wondering when he stepped down from the role less than two months after his appointment.

Katich cited bio-bubble fatigue as the reason for his decision. But his fellow Australian Watson opines otherwise. Watto claims that differences with the SRH Management during the mega auction made Simon take that call.

“Alarm bells started when Simon Katich left just after the auction. That’s normally not a great sight because Katich is one of the most generally good people. It’s really injustice if people really go against what they say. So obviously something has gone down there that Katich stepped away immediately and won’t be a part of it. That’s a warning sign to start with,” Watson said while speaking to a YouTube channel.

The Kane Williamson led team hasn’t had the greatest of starts in this year’s IPL. They went down by 61 runs against the Rajasthan Royals. Chasing a tall score of above 200, their batters failed to catch up with the asking rate and eventually fell well short of the target. Watson also feels that the makeup of the squad isn’t strong either.

SRH will play their second game against the new franchise Lucknow Super Giants on April 4th as both the teams will be trying to secure their first win of the season.
