Mumbai Indians’ (MI) vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav and Gujarat Titans’ (GT) star spinner Rashid Khan engaged in a funny banter with each other, prior to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between the two sides at the Wankhede Stadium on May 6. Both Mumbai and Gujarat will play against each other after 37 days. Earlier, in this competition, Gujarat got the better of Mumbai and clinched a convincing 36-run win at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. This time, Mumbai will look to be at their best while playing in their backyard to take revenge of their previous defeat against Gujarat.

In a video posted by Mumbai Indians on X, Suryakumar and Rashid can be seen shaking hands with each other and engaging in a funny debate over supla and snake shots. Suryakumar is known as the founder of supla shot- an unorthodox flick. On the other hand, Rashid has been seen executing his snake shot elegantly. In the clip shared by MI, Suryakumar teases Rashid and asks, “Aap snake maro… snake shot maro toh woh chalta hai… aap karo to dance aur hum kare to….” With Surya pulling Rashid’s leg, the Afghan player’s GT colleague Mohammed Siraj also broke into the scene and delivered a punchline “Belly Dance.”

Suryakumar Yadav is in excellent form for MI in IPL 2025

Suryakumar Yadav has performed brilliantly for MI in IPL 2025, amassing 475 runs in 11 matches at a breathtaking strike rate of 172.72. With these numbers, he is holding the third spot on the list of batters with most runs in the competition. For MI, he is the most-successful batter in this tournament thus far.

Talking about Rashid, he has struggled to be at his best. In this tournament, he has picked up only seven wickets in 10 matches at an expensive economy of 9.51. GT will want Rashid to step up and lead their team’s spin-bowling unit valiantly in the remainder of the T20 extravaganza.
