Indian batter Virat Kohli turned India's horrific Asia Cup 2022 outings into a memorable one for all Indian cricket fans as the former skipper completed his 71st International century with an unbeaten 122-run knock off 61 deliveries against Afghanistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 8 (Wednesday).
In his illustrious career, Virat now has 27 tons in 102 Test matches, 1 hundred in T20Is, while 43 centuries in 262 One-day internationals. After Virat completed his historic ton, his close friend and former teammate at IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore, AB de Villers, congratulated the Indian batter on his incredible feat with a special post on Instagram.
“With his 100 today I thought I’d share this memory Top knock today my friend. Many more to come" wrote de Villiers with an old picture from an advertisement shoot. In the photo, de Villiers is wearing a helmet while and Kohli was seen donning a stylish sunglass as they were sitting on the scooter. The post immediately went viral and caught the attention of man of the moment as Virat expressed his gratitude towards the Proteas batter by calling him 'biscuit. "Thanks biscuit, Love you," wrote Virat.
Meanwhile, Virat's wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma too commented on the post as she wrote, "Ohh my god." Prior to his Insta post, de Villiers also congratulated the former Indian skipper on Twitter and revealed that the duo had a chat a day before. "Dancing again! What a lovely sight. When I spoke to him yesterday, I knew something was brewing. Well played my friend," wrote de Villiers.
Virat Kohli, who appeared in the continental tournament following month-long break from competitive cricket, was in great touch throughout the tournament as he is currently the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 276 in five games including unbeaten fifty plus score and a ton.
